to introduce one of our shining stars at spring valley, our second great teacher, ms. jennifer man. jennifer has taught at spring valley 18 years. she doesn't look like she's taught there for 18 years but she's had. she started there. that was her first teaching assignment and stayed there sin. that speaks to i think the quality of teachers there at the school. when you first meet jennifer you would think that she's shy but within that quiet demeanor beats the heart of a passionate educator. her passion shines through when she teaches. she reaches out to all her students no matter what level they may be. she often goes the extra mile to help them by sacrificing her own time to tutor them after school. her passion radiates when she works with her leagues. she's always willing to help, either planning a lesson with a fellow teacher, coordinating schoolwide events or assisting the school secretary when she's busy with phone calls. jennifer is the type of person who will never refuse you if you ask her for help. and she helps you without ever asking for anything in return. her passion for teachi

[applause] >> our next award goes to jennifer. jennifer is an accounting supervisor in our finance accounting division and has been with the agency for five years. she is being recognized today for her outstanding performance in completing the analysis of the m.t.a.'s 20 bank accounts with the bank of america. she was able to determine if banking services were needed in her review and the closeout of unnecessary accounts. she consolidated accounts resulting in the reduction of our bank fees. in addition, as part of the proposition 8 mandated chart of accounts and budget restructuring project, jennifer worked tirelessly in detailed analysis of several special revenue funds that were repeeled with many challenges, she was able to successfully complete this project timely and close out the fund balances of these accounts. our director of finance is here to present the award to jennifer. >> thank you, mr. ford. good afternoon, everybody. i'm honored to be here to present this award to jennifer. jennifer is a new mom. and so she's very busy with that effort. but she also was giv
talked with somebody a moment ago about that, jennifer oversteen. and, also, another eyewitness, elliott walker, who is actually a producer here owon "the today show." can you hear me? >> yes. >> tell me where you are and what you saw. >> well, i live in this area. i am returning to my apartment. but i was walking down the sidewalk delivering my young daughter to school, and we hear a very loud sound, the kind of sound you hear when a plane is, you know, going fast past you. followed by an enormous crash. and an immediate explosion. i don't think we could feel shock waves but we sort of felt like we did. and we were in a position where we could see the trade center almost immediately between the other buildings. and an enormous fireball that must have been 300 feet across was visible immediately. a secondary explosion, i think, and then plumes of smoke. there must have been a three-block cloud of white smoke. now, from where i was on the street a moment ago, you can, in fact, see smoke leaving the building on three sides. it seems to be coming out on at least four or five floors. the air
